Alana's behavior modification approaches and training techniques are very gentle and are based on how animals learn and scientific principles. Alana does not use punishment, force, or negative reinforcement when working with dogs or cats to resolve behavioral problems.

Alana has been actively involved in animal protection for 18 years. She has aided in the rehabilitation and rescue of abused and injured animals, educated people on animal care and how to treat animals humanely, and initiated a campaign to relocate an abused pet shop monkey to an animal sanctuary.

On completing graduate school, Alana taught high school biology, bioethics, and envirnmental science. Alana has instructed elementary, high school, and college students on animal welfare and advocay issues.

Alana's Stevenson's goals are to encourge positive teaching and training in all matters related to their dogs and cats behaviors, to reduce the numbers of animals killed each year in shelters, and to enhance the relationship between people and their animal companions.

Alana Stevenson is a Professional Dog and Cat Behavior Specialist and Dog Trainer. She has a MS in Biology, and is certified (CDBC) by the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants. She is a professional member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, a member of the International Institute for Applied Companion Animal Behavior and is the author of The Right Way The First Time.
