Reactive Dogs on Leash is a 3 class workshop.** NEW CLASSES SOON. CALL FOR MORE INFO **
This workshop consists of 3 classes. You will learn how to work with your dog who may be reactive, overly excited, fearful, or unpredictable while on leash. You will learn how to hold and handle a leash so that you can work with your dog without making your dog more anxious or fearful in the process. Teach your dog how to interact with other dogs nicely or pass by those things that may create stress without reacting or falling apart.
This class is not for dogs who are overly fearful, shy or timid. Shy, frightened or timid dogs should take a Shy Dog class.
The cost of this workshop is $85. This is a great class for all dog owners.
You will need a 6ft. nylon leash, great doggy treats and a training bag for this class. The first class is without dogs. Bring your dog to the remaining two classes. Bringing your dog is optional. You can attend this workshop solo, without your pup.
Puppy Manners Level 1 & 2
Puppies will learn behaviors on cue, such as attention, sit, down, coming when called, stay and to give or drop items. Issues such as hyperactivity, jumping, chewing, housetraining, and play-biting with be addressed. This class includes homework, handouts and a certificate of completion (if there is perfect attendance). Structured off-leash play is part of the curriculum.
Basic Manners Level 1 **NEW CLASS BEGINS TUESDAY SEPT 9th @ 7:30pm** Basic Manners is a fun, reward-oriented class that teaches your dog behaviors on cue, such as attention, sit, down, stay, coming, loose-leash walking, and not jumping up on people. This class includes homework, handouts and a certificate of completion (if there is perfect attendance). This is also a continuation of the Puppy Manners Class. You can continue to work on your dog's socialization and training. Depending on the make up of the class, structured off-leash play is part of the curriculum.
Basic Manners Level 2 ** CLASSES STARTING SOON PLEASE CALL FOR MORE INFO **
This is a continuation of the Basic Manners Class. You will continue to work on your dog's socialization and training. Depending on the makeup of the class, structured off-leash play is part of the curriculum. Dogs come to the first class! This class will build on your dog's down-stay, sit-stay, and will include some off-leash and distance training Course prerequisites: Successful completion of Basic Manners Level 1 (or by permission, Puppy Manners). Dogs should already know sit, down, stay, come, and be able to walk on a loose leash. Dogs should be able to interact calmly with other dogs.
Tiny Manners Level 1
Training with a tiny twist! A beginner level course for dogs who weigh 20 pounds or less. Course covers foundation behaviors such as; attention, sit, down, stay, come and walking on leash. Dogs will be allowed to socialize at the end of each class. Do not bring your dog to the first class. It is for humans only.
Tiny Manners Level 2
This is a continuation of the Tiny Manners Level 1 Class. You will continue to work on your dog's socialization and training. Depending on the makeup of the class, structured off-leash play is part of the curriculum. Bring your dog to the first class! This class will build on your dog's down-stay, sit-stay, and you will do some off-leash and distance training. Course prerequisites: Successful completion of a Tiny Manners 1. Dogs should already know sit, down, stay, come, and to be able to walk on a loose leash. Dogs should be able to interact calmly around other dogs.
Growly Dog Level 1
This course is specifically designed to teach you how to manage and treat your dog who is aggressive to other dogs on-leash. This class is not appropriate for dogs who only show aggression toward dogs off-leash, or who exhibit aggression toward people. The course is in a classroom setting initially and will also be held outdoors, exposing your dog to real-life situations. Attendance to all classes is required. All family members are encouraged to attend. Course prerequisites: Pre-screening and/or a behavioral consultation is necessary before acceptance to this class. You will need to fill out a detailed questionnaire on your dog. A private lesson in leash-control is also required.
Growly Dog Level 2
This class is a continuation of the Growly Dog Level 1 class. You will continue to work on your dog’s behavior and reactivity to other dogs, and expose your dog to training in real life situations.
Course prerequisites: Successful completion of Growly Dog Level 1. Dogs should be less reactive to other dogs, be attentive to their owners and responsive to basic foundation behaviors, such as sit, come, down, and stay. Some dogs may need to take Growly Dog Level 1, a second or third time, before continuing to Level 2.
Shy Dog *** Date TBA *** ( Please call with inquires)
This course is for dogs who are timid or shy around other dogs. They do not show aggression and instead refrain from interacting, or avoid contact, with other dogs. Some dogs may cower or retreat when around other dogs. Some dogs who show some mild reactivity to other dogs if cornered or overwhelmed on greetings may also be good for this class. Shy Dog will expose your dog to other dogs in a positive, friendly, and relaxing way. Socialization is a key part of this class. You will also be able to teach your dog foundation behaviors, such as sit, down, come, attention, and stay, and “go play.”
Course prerequisites: No prior formal training is required. Private evaluation is required before entering this class. WORKSHOPS: Massage Your Dog 2hr. wkshp
Learn specific strokes and a basic sequence to massage your dog. Understand the difference between stimulating and relaxing touch, and learn techniques for massaging areas of the head, neck, upper spine, legs, hips and torso. Proper massage sequences and basic techniques will be demonstrated to you as you apply them to your own dog. All dogs are different and each requires special care and attention. Kids & Dogs 2 hr. wkshp Parents will learn how to acclimate children to dogs and vice versa. This workshop is for people who have infants, are expecting, or who have children under 10. Parents will learn how to prevent their children from getting bitten and how to positively introduce their dog to their baby

Board & Train Have your dog trained at Boston Canine while boarding or at daycare. Training session with owner are required on all behaviors taught.
